Nadiya Yangol, Coordinator of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Programs at Alliance for Public Health, spoke at a training for specialists from Trust Points, Friendly Cabinets, and AIDS Centers across the Republic of Tajikistan.
In her presentation, she introduced a new pilot intervention — mail delivery of PrEP — which will be implemented in two cities in Tajikistan in partnership with the Republican AIDS Center. The initiative is based on the online service hivtest.tj and aims to expand access to HIV prevention services and advance telemedicine in the country.
“The launch of this pilot intervention for mail delivery of PrEP is a step toward expanding access to modern and convenient prevention services. We aim to bring PrEP closer to everyone who needs it, leveraging the potential of telemedicine and online services. Online ordering and mail delivery of PrEP is the future of prevention, and it will soon be available in Tajikistan,” emphasized Nadiya.
During the training, participants also learned about and practiced using the DHIS2 system for data collection and monitoring of PrEP services.
The activities are being implemented in the country with support from the regional iSoS partnership and financial backing from The Global Fund.
